Umayyah Cable is a photographer and writer based in Los Angeles, California. She is currently pursuing a PhD in American Studies and Ethnicity at the University of Southern California, where she is focusing on queer SWANA*-American identity politics, visual culture, mass media and propaganda.



*SWANA is an acronym for Southwest Asia North Africa, commonly referred to as the Middle East.
